About Me

Home: About Me

Hi there, my name is Anusha Mistry. I am a fully qualified and experienced physiotherapist working within the Surrey area.

I qualified in 2004 from Northumbria University. I have been fortunate enough to work in many different fields of physiotherapy in various locations across the country for both the NHS and private sectors (Bupa Cromwell Hospital and Nuffield Health). Paediatrics has been my speciality for over 13 years however I also treat adults.

I am happily married and a busy mum of 2 children who are my world. We enjoy lots of time together exploring the great outdoors, baking, crafting and generally making memories!

As a mobile physiotherapist I am able to come to your home. I find this is a more comfortable environment where both children and adults feel confident and relaxed.

So, if you are looking for a friendly, approachable and caring physiotherapist for yourself, your child or on behalf of another loved one, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

Please get in touch and see how I can help you.

What to expect

Initial Assessment  - (1 hr /1hr 30mins – individually tailored)

This is the first time we all meet which means it’s special. I like to take some time in getting to know you/your child and explore the current concerns so I can understand how I can help you.

An initial assessment will be taken which involves a thorough history taking, observation and ‘hands on’ assessment of the area of concern.

For a younger child, this can be undertaken during a feed or active play time to ensure they remain calm and content throughout. Regardless of age, this is the time for me to gain trust and allow me to observe key elements of movement, recognise anxieties and build a rapport that will carry us through our time together.

From this examination I can comprehend what I feel are the main concerns and we develop a treatment plan together with agreed goals for treatment.

For a thorough assessment, parts of the examination will require exposure of affected areas. You/your child will need to be appropriately dressed e.g. shorts/t-shirt/vest or in a nappy for a younger child.

Follow – up Appointment (30mins – 1 hour)

Most conditions will require a follow up consultation or regular visits depending on the condition. Sometimes this can also be a follow up email/phone call or virtual appointment. This ensures we are progressing with treatment and allows us to adapt our program accordingly.

For younger clients, parental participation and support is essential. It helps to boost yours and your child's confidence to perform activities together and in my experience, it can help to ease the anxiety that often arises around having physiotherapy.

Occasionally and if appropriate we may need to use outdoor space or meet in environments where we can make use of resources that are appropriate for your child's rehabilitation. For example – swimming pool, soft play, recreation centres etc. *
